costellazioni letterarie FESTIVAL

Every year in mid-July

Every year in mid-July

“CostellAzioni Letterarie” was born from an idea of the Municipality of Lotzorai and aims to become an essential reference point for lovers of reading and culture.

The festival makes reading its driving force, the main tool for sharing and meeting.

The driving force behind “CostellAzioni Letterarie – Lotzorai Festival” is reading. The origin of the name harks back to the pairing of star and book: like the brightest star in a constellation, the book sheds light on its surroundings, on people and places, bringing them together in a project that makes “Actions,” sharing, and the concept of inclusion its added value.
Our cultural project, in fact, aims to be a star in the territory, which from within the CostellAzione protects readers and guides neophytes towards the safe haven of culture.
We want the book to become a vehicle, a symbolic space where exchange, participation, and inclusion can flourish.

THE BOOK: A TRUE CULTURAL LIGHTHOUSE

The project stems from the idea of making Lotzorai a crossroads between the tourist coast and the hinterland; imagining that the exchange between locals and travelers through culture—literature and books, a true cultural beacon—could become a unifying force for mutual growth and social, economic, cultural, political, and territorial development.

A project that embraces the unique characteristics of the region, with the world’s longest-lived inhabitants, and a pursuit of quality of life tied to the rhythms of nature and the earth. Physical well-being that cannot be separated from psychological well-being, and which increasingly targets young people. Our future.

The widespread network of partnerships established through the festival with various local businesses ensures that the event is accessible to everyone and becomes a laboratory for inclusion among different age groups, backgrounds, and ways of inhabiting the same region. During the event, we intend to broaden the scope of the encounter between writers and the public and foster a participatory approach to developing activities, workshops, and events for adults and children.

For those who love strong emotions

First, educate children about reading through play and workshops—year-round—where they can grasp the importance of “doing” in school. Continue with a program of book presentations, readings, meetings, and panels that engage both adolescents and adults. Engage older adults in fostering an intergenerational dialogue that has always been based on oral transmission and is now increasingly linked to writing and books, especially in our region where older adults are ideally the custodians of knowledge and the secrets of longevity.

The goal is to engage with local residents and subsequently become a melting pot of cultural exchange between residents and travelers, bringing the area to life in spring and summer with environmental/archaeological and food and wine tourism, linked to the area’s reputation as one of the world’s Blue Zones, and coastal seaside tourism.

The festival aims to be a privileged place for inclusion and exchange between the local community and the cultural initiatives being implemented. It is a moment of initiation for new readers of all ages. It creates a collective circular dance in which the writers form the main dancing body, serving as a stimulus and example for those who join in during the performance. As in the more traditional “Su ballu tundu,” the circle—a symbol of unity and collective strength—protects from the curious, yet opens to those who wish to participate. The closely united minds of the dancers/readers represent a moment of sharing and mutual contamination in an exchange aimed at the growth of the participants. The circle opens to welcome newcomers, spreading culture to those willing to be “contaminated” and conveying to guests the beauty of our region’s unique characteristics and history. In this way, we intend to respond to the widespread demand for culture in a region that increasingly limits cultural exchange to the limited summer holiday period.
