Lotzorai boasts a wide range of accommodations. The numerous guesthouses, B&Bs, hotels, and campsites located just steps from the sea are an excellent starting point for many trekking enthusiasts. In recent years, there has been a growing trend among hikers to alternate hiking excursions with relaxing evenings by the sea.
Day hikes, which use the same starting point throughout the stay, are perfect if you choose Lotzorai as a base for exploring remote places to explore, admire, and respect.
The Supramonte, particularly that of Baunei and Urzulei, can be reached in less than half an hour by car. The Jerzu and Ulassai mountains are 45 minutes away. The slopes of Gennargentu are an hour away. Days of intense trekking can be alternated with easier walks within the Lotzorai area, such as a visit to the Nuragic necropolis of Fund’e Monti-Tracucu (3 km from the town). The circular route between the two hills that conceal the necropolis is only two kilometers long.
Another easy walk (4 km round trip), a must for birdwatchers, starts from the town of Lotzorai and follows the Rio Pramaera, following its riverbed, populated by many species of birds such as gray herons, little egrets, purple swamphens, common moorhens, kingfishers, and mallard ducks, until reaching the river mouth.
The beach opposite Pollu is perfect for a refreshing swim.
