Tancau: l’arenile Nord del lungo litorale di Lotzorai.
The beach is bordered to the south by the mouth of the Pramaera River. Its natural boundary with the beach of Santa Maria Navarrese is a small granite cliff that, as a natural extension, emerges majestically on the Ogliastra Island. Thanks to its light, medium-grained sand and crystal-clear sea with a sandy seabed, it is pleasantly accessible to families with children. From this beach, the view of the islet is even more spectacular: unlike other stretches, it reveals the presence of two other imposing granite rocks, “hidden” to the northeast, populated by seagulls and cormorants.
There are various services: restaurants/pizzerias, several kiosks, and beach services equipped with comfortable loungers and umbrellas, as well as raft and water toy rentals. The services and proximity to the villages of Tancau and Santa Maria Navarrese make the beach popular at all hours. A quiet and relaxing place in the morning, it often becomes livelier in the evening with small events, DJ sets, and live music.
The hamlet of Tancau is home to several hotels, holiday villages, and well-equipped campsites.
It is 2.5 km from Lotzorai (the town). It is 0.5 km from Santa Maria Navarrese.
