This stretch of light, golden sand was created and shaped by the mouth of the Pramaera River. The lush pine forest to the south is home to the Le Cernie campsite. The outline of the Isola dell’Ogliastra is even more imposing from here, being the point where the islet is closest to the coast (1 kilometer). The vegetation and fauna surrounding this wide beach are typical of Mediterranean lake areas.
The small building overlooking the mouth of the Pramaera, with its typical traps and nets hung out to dry, is home to a hardworking fisherman: Adriano Deiana. It’s not uncommon to see him on a small boat casting his nets into the river with his wife Sabina, searching for mullet, sea bass, and eels.
It’s 2 km from the SS 125, which passes through the town of Lotzorai.
