One of Lotzorai’s historic buildings is “Sa domu de Donna Nassia,” listed in the General Catalogue of Cultural Heritage of Sardinia.
The building, constructed entirely on rock, is a typical Lotzorai manor house, originally built in the 18th century. Situated transversally on a 420-square-meter polygonal lot, it extends over two levels with a total height of approximately 6 meters. The entrance on Via Gioberti leads to the front courtyard, which overlooks the loggia. It is made of sturdy stone pillars, plastered and painted, which support the overhanging single-pitched roof.
The building’s facades feature small square openings with wooden frames. The floors are rammed earth on the ground floor and brick on the first floor. The internal staircase connecting the two levels features steps made of granite blocks. The wooden and reed-framed roofs are covered with terracotta tiles. The walls, made of local stone, are plastered and painted.
The “Domu de Donna Nassia” House Museum is one of the town’s most distinctive attractions, a symbol of Lotzora’s rural society.
